Please help me find a replacement mug

I just broke my favourite mug and am gutted. It’s no looker but it is the perfect size, keeps tea hot for ages and I’d really comfy to hold and drink out of. Have had it for years and am bereft.

I think they were popular and ten a penny a few years ago and are the sort of thing you’d find in a charity shop. So maybe EBay may be a possibility. I have tried searching there and googling but no luck.

Any MN super sleuths willing to help?

Ooh that looks a good replacement MissCherry!

OP I hope you get one, I have “my” mug and I’d be gutted if it broke!

We had those mugs at work in the 1990s. They were only for visitors. Staff had horrible brown smoked glass ones.

I realise that is completely unhelpful, but may help you date them.

I have a very similar (old) one that you are welcome too, if it’s any good?

The bottom of mine is different though, so that may mean it’s a different size.

@MissCherryCakeyBun
Great find!! Definitely the same type of mug. I think I will take brown eyes blue up on their kind offer below but it is good to know these are there too. Good EBay skills and much appreciated.

@browneyesblue
Thank you so much! That is such a kind offer and goes above and beyond the call of duty.

I would love to give your mug a new home and will pm you in a mo

@BikeRunSki
Yes I think it was the 90s that they were popular
Ha ha to them being used only as naice mugs for visitors :) I have to agree they are superior to the brown glass ones of the same era. They were awful!
