Plastic seal for curved glass shower screen?

Sweets123 · 15/06/2018 16:14

Sorry for boring post! Trying to find a seal for the curved glass shower screen that sits above our bath tub.
The removable seal has gone mouldy inside and isn't salvageable. I ordered a replacement from amazon but although it said it was suitable it wouldn't fit on as it didn't bend enough. does anyone have any recommendations where to find one that will fit? Thank you

Try using a hairdryer on the new seal when fitting, it makes it warm to bend. That’s what the plumber did to mine x

I need one too!

I have made my own bespoke seal with waterproof mastic but squirting it against polythene sellotaped over whatever it would normally go up against. Once it's fully cured, you peel off the polythene and you have a stuck on bespoke seal that fits that exact curve.

You can buy them online
Will try and find a link later as just about to go out

Try soaking the replacement in warmish water...this might help to make it a bit more plyable....the hair dryer option is also a good idea ( but don't do it in the bathroom!)

I buy them off ebay. Put hot water in the bath and put seal in for a few minutes til it softens enough to flex.

Thank you will try the hot water/hairdryer method and see if it will go on. Not sure if I could make one I'm a bit rubbish at diy things it would probably end up in the bin Blush I was thinking of putting some sealant or similar on the ends of the new one to prevent water getting in and hopefully stop it going mouldy again
