Has anyone tried an eco egg? Do you recommend them? They look good and would save me a lot of money!

Do they wash clothes well? Do you still need faneic softener?

They are meh TBH.

They don;t work on whites.
I mainly use mine on black clothes especially new black jeans or TShirts.
IIRC mine is a Cool Cotton fragrance which leaves a slight perfume but I still use fabric conditioner.
They are an outlay (I bought mine from Holland&Barrett) but I suppose they save money longterm but for me they don't replace proper detergent.
I like the fact its cruelty free, I buy Tesco or Waitrose own brand for this reason.

Oh and my Top Tip - put them in a laundry bag, if the plastic case opens you'll be picking the pellets up for ever Wink

They’re rubbish. They remove one of the basic components of washing clothes.

Beside the obvious water - Washing clothes needs 3 things, chemical engery (detergent), mechanical energy (agitation) and thermal energy (water temperature).

Remove/reduce anyone of these components, then one of the others needs to be increased to compensate, so either upping the wash temp or the “scrubbing” action of the machine with either longer or more intensive cycles.

Now of course, for lightly soiled clothes, you will probably get ok results without doing any of the above, but wash by wash, as unremoved soils and body oils (70 percent of dirt on clothing can’t be seen) build up, your clothes (and washer) will pay the price.
