Oil stains

Oil has gone on some brand new Star Wars pyjamas! Gutted!
I went straight at it with a bit of water and the vanish stick, now it's in the wash with some vanish powder.
Anything else I can do?
Or does anyone have the men's Star Wars pyjamas from last weeks lidl in a M?

With oil the best thing I've found is neat washing up liquid and then into the wash. With the water and Vanish it might take a few goes, but it should come out eventually.

I'd use a baby wipe or kitchen paper to remove the worst of it, then rub stain with washing up liquid, soak for a bit then wash as normal.

Fairy washing up liquid seems to remove oil stains on clothes.

Dry the item, rub talc into the stain, run a dry iron over it a few times then brush the talc out, it absorbs the oil.

As soon as oil is on you need to pop some talc on it for a while. I find this absorbs the oil and then it can be washed.

Would any of this work on old stains?

Wildlingofthewest · 16/06/2018 22:29

Fairy liquid! Rub it in neat - cover the area that’s stained and give it a good rub in. Then wash it again as normal and it will be good as new!!!
