Why are these spiders taking over

I seem to have these eight legged friends everywhere in my house. They gave 8
Legs so I'm guessing their spiders! I don't seem to have many of the other more chunky house spiders. Just these? Do they like a particular environment?

They are cellar spiders. They seem to eat the big spiders so I put up with them. I also can't seem to get rid of them, I bet there's at least 5 in every room in my house

Yep, cellar spiders. I saw one take out a giant house spider with nary a blink a few years ago - and they get mosquitoes and flies too. Well worth keeping. If they get in my way, I just pick them up with a rounded, closed hand and deposit them elsewhere.

Thanks all for the replies. They don't bother me as much as the other horrid house spiders. But now I know they do that then I think I'll let them stay a bit longer! Lol
