Oh I would open it, I would like to know if they are still doing a thingy that you put in the microwave or oven with slices of tayto on so you can make crisps.

If you find it, give us a shout

ipanemagirl · 21/05/2007 12:42

still haven't opened it!!!!! But I may give in any moment!

Go on - you know it makes sense.

ArcticRoll · 21/05/2007 12:50

I read that in the stage production of Grumpy Old Women they throw Lakeland catalogues into the audience.

ipanemagirl · 21/05/2007 15:56

that is very funny! I might throw mine at myself!
I still haven't opened it yet!

I've just opened it. Sigh. But I don't feel soiled like I do when I open a virgin copy of Hello!.

Well, since you're reading it now, could you have a look at the preserving thermometer please, and tell me if you think it's the same as a sugar thermometer.

margoandjerry · 21/05/2007 20:17

I got Lakeland, Scotts of Stow and Boden all in the same post this morning! What the hell am I doing on here?

lizziemun · 21/05/2007 20:27

make a drink, get the chocolate. Find a comfy chair and some quiet.

Hide your credit card.

smoggie · 21/05/2007 20:35

Why do I suddenly feel the need to buy a 30 quid preserving pan? I've NEVER made jam in my life but doesn't it look lovely?
I might have to consign my catalogue to the recycling box before I commit to buying any expensive 'necessities'.

JackieNo · 21/05/2007 20:36

Just do what I do - make a list of all the things you'd like to buy, on the order form, then add up the total and recoil in shock. Puts me right off ordering, I find, at least 3 out of 4 times.

macmama73 · 21/05/2007 20:44

Oh, I have a love/hate thing going on with Lakeland. You go in and spend tons of cash on something that 10mins earlier you had no idea existed and you would never imagine you could ever need.

Lots and lots of things the world doesn't need, but I always want to buy

TG I live in Germany and only have to resist the temptation once a year.

Is the new catalogue online then?

ipanemagirl · 21/05/2007 23:14

It is so expensive! I bought some xmas presents from it last year and seemed to spend so much....
But I love the thought of some of that utterly pointless stuff...
Has anyone else been to the Mothership in the Lakes?
I have boarded the Mothershipbut didn't have enough time....

LongDistanceClara · 21/05/2007 23:15

I love Lakeland.

UCM · 21/05/2007 23:15

You actually READ Hello magazine. Gawd help me. I loved you because of Lakeland, I want to you read Bella, Take a Break and Chat please

ipanemagirl · 21/05/2007 23:43

smoggle... I love this preserving pan but it is 35 quid to be sure. I have never preserved and yet I want it.

Does anyone have a REMOSKA???? I want one but I don't know why I want one.
Does one have to have a caravan to have a REMOSKA??

OP posts:
KTeePee · 22/05/2007 16:12

(Whisper), I have a Remoska.....

Bought it when my oven wasn't working but tbh have only used it really in those circumstances - but was very handy when we were having our kitchen done. I did think at the time that I should always do sausages in it in future because it stops the grease spitting all over the oven but in reality I never get around to taking it out of the cupboard....
