Duvet storage

Can I put 2 double duvets laid out flat underneath my mattress, resting on the slats?

The air would get to them, or is it a rubbish idea?

I wouldn’t. They’d get crushed and never be as lofty again. Put them in a zipped storage bag in a cupboard or under the bed. And think carefully about how many duvets you really need.

I tried this and it was a massive fail! The air didn't circulate properly and the ended up smelly foosty and horrible and I couldn't get them back to normal.
I now chuck them in a vacuum bag and put them under the bed
