Astonish cleaning paste

Does anyone have any tips for softening astonish cleaning paste once it has gone hard?

Pour a little boiling water in. Put the lid on. Should be fine next day.

Yeah the lid is quite fidly. Really need to clamp down on the lid to make sure its shut properly.

I dont bother. I just take out a lump and use it! Mainly on oven trays though so it doesnt have to be pretty!
