make up stain on cotton/linen curtain

I'm actually not sure what the material of the curtain is but I think it's probably cotton or linen. Someone (I'm not saying who) has got foundation on the dark blue curtain, I think she's tried to get it out with shampoo in one place and it's spread a bit.

If I can't find a way to get it out this could be the end of the relationship with this particular family member!!

Any advice? Housesitting!

If washable, pretreat with a LIQUID laundry detergent (these work better on grease/oil stains, which is basically what make up is) and then launder.

If just one curtain affected, you will have to wash both, either in same load or consecutive loads with same detergent, temperature and cycle settings as if there is any fading it will be even on both curtains.

If not washable, take to a dry cleaner.

Saying that, I’ve been astounded at some of the stains baby wipes have got out of fabrics (makes you think what’s in them), but if the stain has already been attempted with shampoo, don’t know if a baby wipe on top would be all that helpful.
