Pegs

I have such an exciting life I know but can anyone recommend some really good pegs? Mine are forever breaking. Probably doesn't help that they get left out in all weathers which makes them brittle but I also find that they twist so that the spring pings off one side and I end up having to put them back together. Thanks!

I was just moaning about all my pegs snapping the other day. Leaving them outside definitely doesn't help as the sunlight weakens the plastic.

I had some fab ones from Pound land of all places. But that was a few years back, my ex took them with him when he left (really, he took some very random things!) and I don't think they sell them any more. Watching this thread with interest!

Why leave them outside ?
Genuine question- mine go rusty & mark the clothes if I do that, so have always wondered? 😁

Lakeland ones I invest in when I can afford as they're slightly padded & don't leave pinch marks on the clothes.

Don't leave them outside, this wears them out quicker than anything. Cheap supermarket ones always snap or twist. I've got some Lakeland ones that are really good. I aspire to wooden pegs!

Get thicker ones though.
My dd bought me a new peg bucket (which I love) and skinny wooden pegs (which I love but only cos she bought them for my new bucket). The skinny ones aren't as robust, some of them have been relegated to cereal clippers.

The only plastic pegs I have are huge Italian ones that I bought on holiday, they were the only ones available, I love them cos they are jumbo pegs Grin

Dory I have good intentions but forget to bring them in. They are in a peg bag, not just left on the line, but water gets in the bag. I have some from Asda that haven't gone rusty but they do twist. I've now got pegs made of different colours when I've not been able to find the matching halfGrin

The money I've spent on pegs over the years!

They're not cheap but I forked out on some Brabantia Smart Pegs a while ago and they're the Rolls Royce of pegs!

I'm going to treat them to a Brabantia peg bag next.

The excitement never stops here...!

Mars I've got a brabantia peg bag on my wish list. The one they sell in John Lewis that's about £8.

It's got all kinds of pegs inside - cheap Sainsbury's ones (I bought) and brilliant Lakeland ones (that are technically my mum''s - no idea how they've got from the East to the West!)

I just use cheap wooden ones from the supermarket. Always bring them in - I use a cross-body peg bag so it is on me not the line.

I've got some Lakeland ones I've had for about 5 years. They've moved to SE Asia and back with me and are still as good as new.

Hegs.

Google them.

You can hang up shirts on hangers through them or all manner of things on the inbuilt hooks.
And they're indestructible, mine get left outside all year.

I have those Minky ones and they are the best pegs I have ever bought! Been out on the line all year and still fab albeit slightly faded Smile

I use wooden ones - look at them carefully as there's cheap ones and really good quality ones when you buy. I keep them in a really nice peg bag I made. They live indoors unless in use.

I love the pegs that came with my clothes horse from Lakeland. My others are a variety of cheap wooden or plastic begs which don't have much stamina.

Don't use purple ones, a poster years ago was in the plastics industry and gave good evidence why purple ones broke first
