Dolce Gusto Melody Barks at me

And I have no idea why.

It sits on the worktop next to kettle as OH likes coffee and hot chocolate (I drink tea). It is not plugged in unless we use it so it is currently sitting there unplugged. When I go near it, it barks at me and it only does this when I am go to the kettle, it is silent now as I am in kitchen but not near it.
I only use filtered water as we are in hard water area and I use filtered water for it and the kettle, it does not need descaling.
I have searched internet for months but cannot find any reference to it and it is not in the manual that I can find.The noise is three times of a two tone barking noise, I don’t know how else to describe it.
Any ideas?

Don’t know but am eyeing dh’s up with suspicion now. Dd calls it a monster robot and says it talks to her. She’s 3 so I thought she was kidding......

Jeez, it's not plugged in? Sounds like it has become sentient. Encase it in concrete and bury it in the garden if you want to live.

It has been happening for months, and it hasn’t been used for about two weeks as OH not been around for his coffee due to working long hours.
It did it at me this morning and it is driving me loopy.
It really isn’t plugged in, the lead is curled around it and the plug is lying harmlessly on the counter top.
It must mean something. I am just about to make tea (I am working from home today) so I shall see what happens as I approach it.

It did it again!!! However I have narrowed something down. It only does it when I open the cupboard above it. How does it know??
