Removing candle wax marks from emulsioned wall paper?

DH blew the candle out. Big splash mark of wax now up the wall. Grrrr....

I've scraped the excess off but of course there are still marks. Do I just paint over it? (we only painted it 6 weeks ago so I've got paint still in the shed ), or will the marks come through the paint and I'll have ruined my chances of ever getting rid of it?

Any suggestions???

can you iron the wall through a piece of absorbent paper? i think brown paper, shiny side up, does the trick.

it's certainly how you get wax out of things, that's a Fact. but whether or not it'll work on a wall, who can say?
