Help - Oily olives dropped on carpet!

Any ideas about how to get oil stains from olives out of a loop pile carpet. Ive tried vanish carpet mouse stuff and the bubbles from fairy liquid but they are still there.

Good Housekeeping mag, a couple of eyars ago said that for oil, blot up excess oil then sprinkle bicarb of soda over the stain. Leave to dry then hoover off. Repeat if necessary. It happened to MIL about a week after I read the article and she dropped a whole jar of french dressing on a beige rug and although you can vaguely see the mark, it's a lot better than it was and it was the entire bottle!!!
