Anyone used a robot vacuum?

Hi there,

Does anybody here have experience with robot vacuums? Seems like a nice idea but it is expensive. Concerns would be "non-dog" compatibility and noise issues! In practice are they worth it? Anyone have any problems I may not have thought of?

My sister had one, it was very sweet and did sort of clean up but it kept getting stuck under things and having to be rescued so wasn't a great help in terms of saving time/energy.
I had one, it ambled happily around the room in no particular pattern for an hour without collecting any dirt, then died on my carpet and had to be sent back.
I love the idea of them though!

Ha sounds very sweet, almost like a pet. Shame about yours! Do you know what brand it was? Have you heard of Roombas?
