My drying is coming out the drier smelling kind of musty (drier is 4 months old). What am I doing wrong?

Do you clean the lint and all that palava is it a condenser? I wipe out my dryer round the door and leave the door open to dry out when I first got a condeser I was getting a musty smell too

Same here, although it's a washer dryer. I put a drop of the least offensive smelling fabric softener I can find, or 1/4 of a dryer sheet in with it and it comes out smelling acceptable. I really don't like strong smells so hope someone else comes along with a solution.

To add, I've cleaned filters etc/ aired it but no improvement.

My Dd has a washer dryer she puts a baby wipe in on the drying cycle because she inherited the machine with the flat and she said there was an odour after drying

This used to happen with one of my old dryers, drying a couple of towels (one wet, one white) with a slosh of white vinegar poured on the dry one, then airing the dryer well really helped.

Urggh. That was horribly gatbled🙄 One wet, one dry!

I pulled out the tray (where you pour the liquid) and had mould behind that.

I also found another filter beside the water container that needs taken out and cleaned I do it once a month its best done in the shower

Gribbie · 11/04/2018 12:38

Some great ideas - thank you. Will check for extra filters/mold when I get home. I don’t leave the door open much because of where it is but will do that more.

Down the bottom there should be a door and inside a clip or two, they release the big box thing that needs cleaning out. It will have damp lint in and around it. I shower mine and then leave it to dry. It's done monthly or every 30 uses usually for effective drying and safety.
