Cleaning after mice

We've just moved and discovered that there have been mice in the house. DH found one dead one. We think that they aren't in the house any more.
How do we clean properly after them? I've hoovered the poo which I then discovered online was a bad idea Hmm so I suppose from now on any more I find I'll spray and wipe up with kitchen towel as per Google's recommendation
My plan is to hoover the floors and wash with flash. Then I discovered some lavender scented Dettol so I'm going to add that to the mop bucket too.
For cupboards and wardrobes I'm planning to spray and wipe poo then wipe with flash/Dettol combo.

Is that enough? Or do I need to go nuclear on the whole thing?

I have a baby who's just about to start crawling so I want everything squeaky clean

Hi, we moved to a renovation property years ago. Literally infested with them in the country, but so many holes in the property even the pest control gave up.
I just cleaned surfaces with diluted bleach etc. Got cats and as house has been renovated, we rarely see any.
If you aren't seeing fresh droppings Just give everything a clean.
We are still going after 10 yrs.

I lived in a terraced house which had several instances of mouse visitations (despite blocking seemingly oodles of holes).

When I noticed droppings, I'd use poison. And that's about the time I discovered Zoflora for cleaning round the area/s the critters had reached that time.

I live in the country and everyone here gets them. I leave poison down in a child proof cupboard. Wipe with paper towel damp with spray first that helps pick it up. Used bleach diluted but now using Zoflora likeEthel. I like the lemon one as it smells fresh afterwards. I would say sweep then vacuum floor every day with little one. Probably best in the morning as they will be about art night. Also check if you put poison down as I sometimes find bits on our kitchen floor. Ours is vibrant pink so noticeable. Baby might eat if not hovered first.
They are annoying little buggers.

Thanks for starting the thread.

About a week ago we discovered mice had got into our main food cupboard and nibbled through a plastic peanut butter jar. We've killed two mice now and I'm hoping that's the end of it but I have thrown away nearly all the food in the cupboard and today I am going to hit it with the zoflora, (I've never used zoflora before so I feel like a proper mumsnetter!)

Our main food cupboard has a hole as it has a power point and the (fitted) fridge is plugged into that power point. Mice have to climb up three feet to get into that hole. I'm going to have to block that hole up but it's slightly frustrating that I probably won't do such a good job because of the fridge wire.
