Help MN housekeeping experts! How do I get seriously burnt residue off of my stainless steel pot?

I have soaked and scoured, it is just not shifting!

I read somewhere that you are supposed to leave them in the garden and the slugs then eat the black stuff off. Apparently it really works, but not brave enough to put it to the test myself

Try boiling the pan with water and dishwasher powder/tablet for about 10 minutes till it dissolves. Make sure the water is covering all of the burned bits.

Everything should scrub of and leave your pan gleaming again!!

I think biological washing powder does the trick too............thanks Kim and Aggie!

I use wash powder on blackened pots, oven shelves, grill pan anything like that. I don't boil them, just get really hot water, and I only ever buy non-bio powder too. Just stick them in, leave them to soak for a while then rub it of with a scourer. Make sure you wear your marigolds though or you get really sore hands.

My Nan-nan taught me that trick, so Kim and aggie must have pinched it off her
