Washing machine manufacturer's warrenty - straightforward?

Indeset washing machine isn't draining or spinning and water is resting in the drum. I've accessed the pre-chamber and checked the pump. No blockages. Rang retailer/installer who said next step was to phone Indeset for an engineer. Machine bought under a year ago so covered under manufacturer's warrenty.

Rang to book an engineer. Some effort to sell me an extented warrenty (though months until the year is up) and a washing machine cleaner. Call centre said something about needing to pay if no fault is found and there were some other caveats that I couldn't quite make sense of.

Should I not worry - perhaps this is something to expect - or will the engineer be under pressure to find no fault? And what if it turns out to be an installation problem? Thanks!

Sounds pretty usual patter. The engineers are usually okay. You have a guarantee and your problem sounds normal.

It'll be fine - that's normal.
