Ciff Cream? It usually works on most things including biro. Or a baby wipe (pampers seem to be best for some reason). You'd have to rub gently though so it doesn't discolour the lino.

ive scrubbed it with washing up liquid, washing powder - dont have cif. Somoeone suggested wd40 do you htink that would work?

I'd wait to get some Ciff cream - me and my mum swear by it! I've at present got scribbly biro all over the kitchen walls of army quarter so must buy some more Ciff!!!

luciemule · 11/05/2007 11:22

WD40 might work though or white spirit.

LoveMyGirls · 12/05/2007 11:05

WD40 didnt work, will have to buy some cif today

You can get Stain Devils biro remover in supermarkets or Woolworths. Works brilliantly on clothes - even when a biro has leaked. Don't know about lino, though.

Nail polish remover?

eidsvold · 12/05/2007 11:25

a little bit of eucalyptus oil on a cloth removes black scuff marks from lino perhaps that might be worth trying.

Pannacotta · 12/05/2007 21:11

You could try methylated spirits, it works on felt tip so might also work on biro...

LoveMyGirls · 13/05/2007 07:49

Have now tried cif and a brilo pad.......Looks like white spirits is our last hope. We're moving out in a few weeks anyway but wanted to leave it nice for the next people.

is it off??

LoveMyGirls · 14/05/2007 07:32

Not yet! It has faded but its is still there.

Have tried nail polish now. It's my own fault for not trying everything immediately but i was out and dp noticed it I came in from the pub and had a quick go with no joy so the urgency to get it off has disapeared. I'll keep trying.
