Hello just wondering if any mums can give me any tips to get poo stains out of baby clothes?. I've tried washing up liquid which I read somewhere but it didn't work!
Thanks

Its the greatest dye known to mankind. Throw it out in vanish doesn't work is my policy.

PotteringAlong · 06/04/2018 15:50

Put them on the line day and night for a few days. The sunlight will bleach it out.

Trilllllian · 06/04/2018 15:50

Napisan

Yes, sunlight does the trick far better than any stain removers.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 06/04/2018 15:54

Sunlight is your friend!! It is amazing at getting rid of stains.. I've read moonlight works too but haven't tried it.

Orangesandlemons82 · 06/04/2018 15:54

Definitely put out in the sun. Works a treat.

mincymoo124 · 06/04/2018 15:54

Thank you I will try leaving them
Out in the sun. I've thrown so many
Out already but just seems a waste when they've only been worn once

Tesco £1.50 oxi spray and two scoops of napisan. If that doesn't do it nothing will. I swear the oxi spray is magnificent. Even old stains have been removed!

Cinnamus · 06/04/2018 15:57

Rince it as soon as possible (when still damp). Sprinkle washing powder directly onto the stain and soak in hot water. Then scrub. Works for me every time. I use ariel.

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 06/04/2018 15:57

I use vanish and 99% of the time it works (I admin defeat the other 1% of the time!)
Make a paste with the vanish & rub it in to the stain. Let it soak for a while then in to the washing machine Smile

Lindorballs · 06/04/2018 15:59

Soak ASAP before and dries and use a stain remover like vanish, add napisan when you wash in the machine. If that doesn’t work then leave in sunlight for a couple of days eg on a sunny windowsill. Nearly always work. I hardly throw any baby clothes out now.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 06/04/2018 16:06

Put to soak at once in cold water. Don't let it dry.
Then soak in bio detergent overnight.
Then wash as usual, rinsing off the bio first if you prefer. But washing in bio is best.

Pickleshickles · 06/04/2018 16:14

Hang in the sun for a day or so, you'd be amazed what the sunlight does to stains.

PotteringAlong · 06/04/2018 19:04

Don’t throw them away! It’s a clean stain, just let them wear them anyway!

bathildab · 07/04/2018 09:33

There isn't much green original fairy liquid wont shift. Leave it on neat overnight and wash as normal. Much cheaper than Vanish etc as well!

user1499786242 · 07/04/2018 14:37

I've tried everything and shout stain remover is the best stuff!!
I swill the clothes straight away, use the shout spray and scrub with toothbrush
Then spray abit more and leave until next wash goes on
Only ever not got one stain out and that was a grass stain which I stupidly left for a while before spraying!

It's cheap from Wilkos too! Amazing stuff

user1493413286 · 07/04/2018 14:41

Vanish and washing up liquid in a paste and left to soak

happymummy12345 · 07/04/2018 14:45

I only use shout stain remover spray

EcoCleaner · 07/04/2018 21:02

Soak overnight in a biological washing powder (not liquid) and then throw them in the washer on a full cottons 60 wash with your regular detergent. Don’t use quick wash.

ridinghighinapril · 08/04/2018 22:58

Vanish or sunshine or both

ClaireFraser · 08/04/2018 23:14

Sunlight is the best thing ever when it comes to getting rid of poo stains. Including toddler poo stains.

Leave on the line for a few days, or on the windowsill for a few days. If the stain has gone through to both sides of the fabric you may have to turn the item over to get the ‘sun’ (haha fat chance of that at the moment!) on both sides.

Doesn’t really need to be sunny as such, just in the daylight.

The day I learnt this tip was a great day, so many clothes have been saved because of it!

NC4Now · 09/04/2018 10:39

Milton then put them out in the sun.

mincymoo124 · 20/04/2018 10:30

I have just tried the vanish non bio and it has worked great for removing poop stains and food stains from bibs Grin yayyy it's a blue bottle with a pink lid for anyone who's interested and it's on offer at Morrison's. you apply it directly onto the stain and rub in with the lid... then you put a cap full in with the wash 👍🏼
