removing pen ink from bed sheets and advice to stop staining my things so much

i got brand new lovely bed sheets yesterday but fell asleep with a uncapped ink pen next to me, and im absolutely heartbroken that it got green ink everywhere!
I tried using a stain remover stick called KISS OFF that seemed to lift the stain but then it ended up just transferring the ink through to the back of the duvet.
Is there any good tips to remove ink off sheets and and things i could modify or do to have me stop ruining my things this way i.e different stain friendly pens i could use that wash out easily?
i did this to another set of bed sheets i have with a different pen luckily it was only a tiny spot, but i've ruined my own clothes recently from trying to remove stains and its really annoying me that i keep doing this to myself and ruining my things

Hairspray worked on school shirt pockets with leaking pen. put something under it, spray with hairspray and then blot. And repeat. Then wash.
You have to put something under it or the ink will go to the next layer of sheet, if folded.

I use hairspray and kitchen roll. Blotting it out not rubbing.

I always have hairspray! It works on sharpies too which are a pain in the arse!

Dr Beckmann, Stain Devils are pretty good, they do one for pen.
