Wall mounting a cordless vacuum-is it a thing?

Hi I've just bought a dyson v7 animal cordless and am very impressed with it. I'm really keen to wall mount it in my kitchen so I can grab it when I need it (three children, one of which has just started weaning and a dog) and so it can charge while not in use. Dp, however, says it's a ridiculous thought to wall mount it as nobody has their vacuum cleaners on show. So my question is, do you have your vacuum cleaner wall mounted on show or do you think it belongs in the cupboard? Happy Easter Sunday Grin

Wall mounted, understands cupboard. love it!

If you havent done this yet, beware. I mounted mine to the side of an Ikea Kallax going in to a corner so it wasn't seen BUT it needs quite a way to swing out when dismounting. I thought a gap of about 30cm was enough but it isnt. Gave up and its just in the corner. So much easier to store and access on the wall mount though - the dyson is a weirdly imbalanced thing. Top heavy. Super handy though.

Yes we've mounted it but I've found the same thing. We've had to move the bin further away as it swings out quite a distance in order to dislodge it from the unit. Nevertheless it's being used a great deal and the kitchen is so much cleaner because of it so I'm happy for now!

DP and I went to a house viewing where the bespoke kitchen had a special cordless Dyson cupboard to hide the cable and wall mount.

Apparently that isn't a good enough reason to buy a house though .

Wall mounted in utility room. If it was tucked away and not wall mounted I’d not be arsed to use it.

Ours is wall mounted in the kitchen. My mums is too.

I'd never use it if I had to faff with propping it up somewhere, plugging it in, waiting for it to charge and then putting it away every single time.

If it's a problem with it swinging outwards, can you not just leave the short attachment on it instead of the longer one so that it doesn't interfere with the bin?

Special dusk cupboard sounds fab! Yes it would be a possibility to have it shorter but I do tend to use it a lot of the time for crumbs etc that are on the floor so the long stick is quite useful. I've just moved the bin further away from the dyson so it can swing out in all its glory. I'm loving it-my kitchen has never been so tidy and because it's there at hand I'm finding that I hoover a lot more often.

Mine is wall mounted in the kitchen but slightly hidden to the side of a cupboard. Where the upright corded vac used to live so no difference except takes up less space! No option to hide it away as no understairs storage or utility (ha, I wish!) and cellar too damp for electricals. It looks fine and is so useful to have to hand.
