Washing machine drum rattling

I had a full loaded wash on the other day and during the final spin the drum started making a noise, like metal plates banging together. Since then I've used it twice on a quick wash and separate spin, no problems, but today on the quick wash and spin, it starting banging again. I can manually turn drum without any noise/friction. The drum does easily move, I'm not sure if that's normal. No damage to the metal drum and I'm fairly sure nothing has come out of pockets and got caught.

Any ideas?

Belt's gone.

Thanks for your quick reply. Do you know if that'd be expensive to replace?

My miele is now quite old and makes these noises regularly but not all the time. I was told by miele that until it makes this noise all the time it should be ok. I put my washes on a 600rpm spin first to get most of the water out, then on a higher spin. Seems to help a bit. I am assuming when its ‘gone’ ill get a new machine.
