Squeamish people please change channels now...

Ok...apologies for the grim nature of this post, but I really have tried everything in my cleaning toolbox! My very poorly dog has had a 'tummy accident' on my cream carpets 🤢😮💩 leaving a really messy stain that I can't get out. Poor dog is mortified, bless, and obviously I've done my very best to get the stain out, but it's not budging! It was very runny, so has soaked right through 😳 I've got the actual 'mess' up and it no longer smells (thank the lord!!) but what can I use now to try to get the stain up? It has faded somewhat but is still fairly obviously shit 😩

TIA

Get professional carpet cleaners in.

Borrow/hire a proper carpet shampooer. I have a Bissell one but have also used Rug Doctor. They will get out really horrible poo stains, though might take 2 or 3 goes & you need to buy the special pet stain cleaners to use in them. Bissell also does a spray that goes on the stain for a few minutes before you shampoo it. Or pay a professional cleaner as Ineedamore suggests.

I've got a vac carpet cleaner. It's been a life saver if my dog eats something that doesn't agree with her GrinConfused

Sorry should say 'vax'

Er..... I have an old cat, he messed on my cream carpet when he was poorly.

I ended up scrubbing the stain with a dilute bleach and water mix. It was either ruin the carpet with the bleach mix or throw it out anyway. Very lucky that it did work, but I’d definitely say try it in an inconspicuous spot first. I was just lucky. But it does d work.

Get a professional in. My dog sprayed liquid shit all down 10 of 13 stairs in our last house - which was a rental. It was during the day while we were at work (poor thing she was clearly trying to get down to the front door to get out) so it sat there for some time! I was really panicking as I didn't want to have to pay out to replace the carpet but we got a guy in the next day and it came up good as new.

Will depend on what type of carpet it is though - he did say of it was wool there was no hope.

Thank you all...tried diluted bleach in an 'inconspicuous' area and it was ok! Cleaned 'messy' area yesterday and it has faded tenfold but you can still make our marks (nowhere near as bad though, fortunately!). Will try again tomorrow with carpet shampoo and add a bit of bleach to the mix, see if this helps...if not, will have to have it professionally cleaned I think 😳😢
