Vax steam cleaner leaking

I have had a Vax Steam cleaner for just over 2 years and it has developed a leak from the water holder. At first I thought it was me not putting the lid on correctly but it isn’t. Used it today and

Oops posted too soon! Used it today and it tripped the electrics so assuming water has got into the electric panel. Do they only last a short while, is this a known issue? Just wondering whether to buy a replacement or a different brand.
