Removing lipstick stain from jeans

Anyone used hairspray to get a lipstick stain out of a pair of jeans? Did it work? That's what google is telling me to do. Need a tried and tested method!

I washed and tumble dried a lipstick. Mostly a dark load.
I got the stains out by rubbing washing up liquid into them before putting the clothes back through a wash.
It took a couple of washes for some of the badly marked items but the stains did go.

Thanks @Berthatydfil! Eventually got round to tackling that lipstick stain and the washing up liquid worked a treat! Really thought it wouldn't come out.
