Anyone in? It’s been a really busy term and the house is a tip. It would be great to have some company/motivation!

I'm in! Our house is a disaster zone at the minute Blush
Tricky with the smallies at home but have to do something!
What's your plan purple?

PurpleDaisies · 26/03/2018 11:07

I’m making a big list right now!

Thinking of starting by putting a load of washing on and emptying all the bins. The kitchen is the worst so I’m going in set a timer for 20 minutes and see what I can get done. Then same in the bathroom.

As a treat, I’ll pop out for a sandwich in a nice cafe nearby.

Lists are always good!
I like the idea of setting a timer and a treat!

Clothes are my biggest problem, just can't seem to keep in top of washing, drying and putting away

PurpleDaisies · 26/03/2018 12:55

The kitchen is now miles better, the washing machine is on, I did some general sorting and now heading out for coffee.

I'm in! I need to have a massive blitz over Easter. I rent and the landlord has insisted that a cleaner will now be coming weekly (free so I can't complain really!). However, I am a bit reserved and anxiety prone so need get home perfect before cleaner reports back to landlord that it's a hovel not really a hovel but I have 3 children and lone parent
I'm re-reading that life changing magic book whilst I am recovering from flu and hopefully be a bit more with it by the weekend. Need to get rid of stuff and organise what I do have. I also have no lift space or shed space - everything Known is visible. Ugh.

NoChella · 30/03/2018 14:25

I'm in too! Hen do next weekend so want the house lovely and clean for the girls. For some reason I always start with the most needless tasks...so I've organised my wardrobe and make up drawer...

Made a list of cleaning products to pick up and will be tackling the kitchen tomorrow with a new mop and a tonne of zoflora. All windows are currently open to air out the entire house. I'm excited to work through all the jobs! Fridge needs a thorough clean, as does the oven. Cupboards need organising and two loads of washing + 2 spare rooms worth of bedding!

Sitranced · 30/03/2018 14:34

Yup, it's getting warm enough to open the windows for long enough to blow away the winter cobwebs.

I've started in the bathroom, had a clear out of old nail polishes, tubes, lotions and potions. Quick stock check of the medicine/first aid box. I've squirted bleach on the grouting and I'll give it a bit of a scrub once I've finished this brew. The shower curtain and bath mat is soaking in a bit of bleach too. I'll tackle the limescale on the taps too.

Right back to it.

RosieDawn · 30/03/2018 18:30

Also been opening windows despite the pouring rain!!
I've cleared out a big bag of old worn out clothes from my eldest for textile recycling. Need to do the same for myself really as I have suitcases of thin clothes...

nothruroad · 30/03/2018 18:46

I’m in too. Ideally I’d like to have it all spring cleaned by this time next week. I’m going to make a giant list and do some washing tonight. Might clear out the bathroom units too as that’s quite an easy job.

NoChella · 31/03/2018 10:31

Anyone started today yet? DP is still asleep, he works BHs so I'm trying to give him a lay in but I'm desperate to shake him awake and say "Wakey wakey we have zoflora and a mop to go and buy!!" I'm unreasonably excited about this Grin

BrieAndChilli · 31/03/2018 10:40

Yesterday I tidied the kids rooms, worked my way through the mountain of washing, cleaned the bathroom, tidied our room. DH and the kids tidied the playroom and lounge and put away the accumulated crap from the stairs. The kitchen was also tied and sorted over the course of the day.

House isn’t sparking but it’s tidy enough for us all to relax and enjoy easter and get trashed by my niece and nephew who are staying and my sister who doesn’t pick up after herself
Next week MIL is coming to stay to provide childcare. She will also do a load of cleaning etc for me!!

Muddlingalongalone · 31/03/2018 10:43

I'm in although not til tomorrow as have plans for today. 2 days child-free to seriously get things sorted - well a week but working the rest of the time. Literally every room needs decluttering, mega cleaning and organising.
Washing is the only thing I seem to be ok at.

Sitranced · 31/03/2018 13:39

DH is tackling the kitchen today. Pulling out and cleaning behind the washing machine & fridge. I want to have a clear out of the larder cupboards sort out the spice bag mountain that avalanches every time we open the door. We did the wardrobes a few weeks ago and in fact the donation bag is still sitting in the hallway waiting to be taken to charity.
I want to give all the curtains a wash but the weather isn't letting me do that for a few more weeks. That should do for today I want to have some lazy rest time this holiday. Grin

RosieDawn · 01/04/2018 20:17

I don't feel like I am throwing enough away. I've cleared out the kitchen food cupboards and still hardly have any extra space at all (they were almost overflowing and now they're not but I dont think I could realistically add anything to them yet?). I guess I won't need to buy any dried fruit/glace cherries or chutney ever again!

NoChella · 02/04/2018 14:03

Our spice rack has been halved! I didn't even realised dried herbs and spices went out of date but some have clearly followed us from home to home. Curry powder from 2014 Blush onto the upstairs spare rooms now for a Hoover and a clean up!
