Help! Watermark on new fabric sofa

Argh! I am in a panic. I’ve recently, perhaps stupidly, got a new pale grey fabric sofa. I cleaned a tiny mark off it with cold water and blotted - my usual failsafe - and have found a large dried water ring in its place. Does anyone have any tips for removal? It looks awful, I’m gutted.

Sorry, you're not going to like this but I had a sofa re-upholstered in a designers guild velvet and have exactly the same problem. Basically, it's uncleanable!

I have a red sofa which shows watermarks. If I clean the whole of the cushion, rather than just the patch that needs cleaning, with a wet cloth and upholstery cleaner (I use the astonish one) it dries okay.

Using a hairdryer to dry the water wet area can eliminate any tide mark as you dry from the outside of the water into the centre - although obviously I have no idea if this will be safe on your sofa fabric.
