Has done a superb job on the living room carpet which is cream/honey coloured again (rather than melange du felt tip)... but there is one big ugly dark grey stain right by the door which he just can't shift.
He reckons that it's dyed with something (ribena/gravy?) and I honestly can't remember what it was, except that it happened whilst I was out of the house, and DH hadn't cleand it up!!............
Any ideas what to do with it? I can't put a rug over it as it's just where the door sweeps over the carpet as it opens It's only 2 years old!

shut your eyes?

NO idea sorry

put a small mat down? is it right in front of the door or to the side?

yomellamoHelly · 09/05/2007 16:42

How about getting a recessed door mat put in?

Jackaroo · 09/05/2007 17:21

mm, I'd think a recessed mat would look a bit funny in a living room, but then I've never thought of it before....... If you can imagine the door having wet paint on the bottom of it, the arc of paint it would draw on the carpet as you open it into the living room, that's pretty much where it is!!

I think I'm going to have to shut my eyes - that's for that tip Mrs Who

Is he still there?
What have you been doing with him?

LilyLoo · 09/05/2007 17:25

claim for a new one on your house insurance.

brimfull · 09/05/2007 17:27

if you can't claim,do a cut out job,apparently if it's done well you can't tell .
Cut out a piece of new carpet and replace.sounds difficult to me though.
