Has anyone got one that they recommend?
I want a strong jet of steam so i can clean annoying nooks around toilet seat hinge area. And an attachment for use on carpets / upholstery.

Every one i look at has such mixed reviews!

Ah I'm not alone on my quest!

How much are you looking to spend? I want to spend under £50 and it has to be small enough to stash somewhere.

After watching youtube videos i would actually like a £3000 industrial strength one...but thats possibly excessive...

Me too! Spent the whole morning reading reviews today. They are all so mixed I can't find a single one that seems like it will be a good buy. I'm including convertible steam mops in my search too.

I’ve got the karcher one. Works pretty well. Actually looking to sell though because have new wooden floor everywhere which I can’t steam. Gutted. Was the most cathartic feeling seeing all the invisible dirt being steamed away

Bought one from Aldi a couple of weeks ago. It was £16 and did the exact job you described in your op

squiz81 · 27/03/2018 10:48

Ooh thanks startingagain i wonder if my local Aldi will have any left.

I bought a Midas one from amazon on the back of positive reviews. It cost £33. But im sending it back. The steam was intermittent at best, takes forever to cool down enough to release the safety valve that stops you opening the tank. No water fill indicator and worst of all the shortest power cord, fine if everything you wish to clean is in a 1m radius of your plug. Well it may be longer than that...but not long enough to reach my bathroom. I dont really want to have to get an extension lead too.

Having said that, it did reach my downstairs loo and the steam jet did a great job on the toilet seat hinge so i definitely want another one!

UPDATE (for those that also want a steam cleaner!)

I got the Polti vaporerto pocket 2.0. It was £30 on Amazon (sold by the deal channel) they sell on Ebay too. I absolutely LOVE it. Everything has been steamed this afternoon!

I only had one go on the windows but the attachment for that didnt do a great job. I think i would be better steaming them then using a normal squeegee. Aside from that, its marvellous strong burst of steam which is continuous. Plus it has a shoulder strap...somehow wearing it on my shoulder shooting things made me feel quite cool. Grin

It does take 5 minutes to heat up, Whereas the more expensive models are much quicker. But that doesnt bother me and i liked the lower price!

Yay! Thanks for the update OP. I was leaning towards that one too. On my way to order one now Grin
