My wardrobe is similar to this but without the shelf going all away accross the top.

How on earth do I store clothes on the shelves? I've tried boxes but they are too deep and get messy becsuse I have to rummage.

I don't have a huge amount of clothes but I've never found a way to use the shelves that keeps them neat and useful.

I have shelves in my wardrobe and I tend to use them for seasonal storage or for stuff that doesn't need to be folded properly - things like pyjamas/leggings etc.

I use labelled cube boxes (I had some left over from when we bought DDs Ikea kallax unit) and I can fit 4 on each of the two shelves in my wardrobe. The top shelf I use to store out of season stuff (jumpers/tops/bottoms) and a box of fancy dress accessories and the second shelf I have boxes for PJs, leggings, tank tops and accessories (belts/ties/scarves etc)

They work well because it keeps those items contained but out of sight and I can just take them straight from the airer and shove them in the box which streamlines the "putting away laundry" rigamarole
