Poo stain on pvc windowsill.

My mum’s elderly cat did a poo on the windowsill. It wasn’t on it long but has left an unpleasant brown stain. Has anyone one had this experience and know of anything that could get the stain out please.

No experience of this but I would probably put some bleach on it for a few minutes

Yes bleach gets most stains out of pvc

There is a upvc cleaner you can buy which has a whitening agent in it - if you have a look on eBay they are about £7. I haven't used it specially for cat poo but it's worked a treat on my windows which had been splattered with plaster and concrete (house renovation).

I use an enzyme cleaner on cat poo. Because bleach sometimes smells like urine to a cat and they might go there again.

Be careful using bleach on plastics - it can leave a permanent yellow mark. Sunlight will naturally fade the mark over time.

Years ago I used nail varnish remover on UPVC windows to whiten them up from nicotine stains (I bought a flat from a chain smoker). It worked very well.

If you try nail varnish remover make sure it's an acetone free one. Acetone dissolves some plastics!

There is a product called Muck Off (think it has a funkier spelling) that is made for cleaning caravans. It is amazing on pvc. Even got a red wine stain out of ours that we had tried everything on. You can get it from Amazon.

Not quite the same but out outside conservatory pvc had been caught in cross fire of historical dark brown fence stain spraying. Value cream cleaner worked.
