Toxic cookware : pots and pans

Hi,

I am trying to find a reasonably priced, totally non- toxic frying pan but, I keep finding at any companies who claim to have a non-toxic coating have put it over a toxic aluminium metal pan. E.g. the company GreenPan. What I understand we need to do is to watch that none of the internal coating is ever scratched, or the aluminium will leak into the food.

Thx for reading.

Isnt plain stainless steel ok?
Or cast iron?

StarsBrokenAgain · 08/03/2018 17:46

I've had a look into this and concluded cast iron is the best plan. But haven't been able to convince myself that the upkeep of cast iron is worth it.

Copper?

Why do you think aluminium pots are toxic?

Just buy stainless steel with no coating.

MsHomeSlice · 08/03/2018 18:33

pretty sure you are more likely to be killed by a Rampaging Number 13 Bus than by an iffy aluminium non stick pan

Buy a decent stainless steel pan and be done with worrying.

Yep, the aluminium thing is complete nonsense. Do some research about it.

If you’re still concerned just get stainless steel.
