Tumble dryer lint bin

My TD is in an large hallway cupboard. I obviously clean out the lint trap after each load but I need a bin of some sort to store it in before it goes in the wheelie bin.
At the moment I'm using an old lidded glass jar that I keep on shelf in the cupboard but it's just too small.
I'm worried that a pedal bin will just fling dust back into the room each time it's opened so I'm thinking I need something like a sanitary bin.
How do you deal with your TD fluff so it doesn't put dust over everything? Any storage recommendations?

Why can't you just put the lint in the bin after each use?
My tumble dryer is in a different room to the bin, I just pull off the lint and carry it through to the bin every time.
Surely no more work than taking a lid on and off a jar?

My tumble dryer is in my utility room opposite my bins.
I just put it straight into the bin each time.
What about one of them little flip lid bins u can get for bathrooms?

I don't have this problem but you could use the plastic tubs that liquid laudry detergents tabs come in? The biggest size is quite roomy. DH used to use them as a dirty cutlery storage before we got married and he was in barracks (it was grim, don't ask). Or a biscuit tin/tub. The benefit of the latter being that you "need" to eat the biccies to obtain an empty tub.

apparently you can mix it with PVA and use is for craft projects

You can also use it as a firelighter.

I have to walk back through the kitchen so I stick it in the bin there. Getting it off the filter in the first place is what raises the most dust IME.

I use an old ice cream tub

Second post below: apparently really effective fire lighters.

I usually put it straight in the bin. However had never thought of them being used as firefighters, so I'm going to start keeping them!
