Control Journal?????

Well I enrolled on the Flylday thingy for a while and have managed to waste an incredible amount of time reading the testimonials in my inbox rather than actually doing something productive and was wondering do any of you that follow that system actually have a control journal? Think I should really start making more of an effort trying to get everything together, not so much of a home I have rather a collection of half-finished rooms really!

Don't know what a control journal is. I do know that those who signed up to 'Flylady' soon stopped 'cos they were getting so many emails per day Personally, I read the day's mission, decide if it's helpful, ignore it if it's not. I find that posting two or three jobs I'm intending to do focuses my mind really well, then I come back when I've done them and list some more. Other people make a day's list and mark off when they've done them. It's really important to just do what works for YOU - we're all different.

I never bothered with a control journal, deleted the testamonials, and soon cancelled the emails all together.

I do menu plan now, and have a weekly rota of jobs and childrens activities stuck to my fridge so I know what I need to do and cook every day.

That is enough for me, but as Londonmamma said, we all take it as far as works for us.

I've never bothered to sign up to the FLY emails or do a control journal either sometimes wonder if I ought to be on the FLY threads at all ...

I find just taking the time to post a list every morning really helps to get me set up for the day and make the most of the time I have. I do occasionally try to meal plan, it really works - I just need to be more organised....

Good luck with it - feel free to join us on the FLY threads sometime

Glad it wasn't just me...I've never posted on the flythreads cos I just assumed it was for people who were all proper flylady devotees with neatly numbered control journal pages and a housework routine off pat, kinda wonder how anyone who's discovered MN can be a fly baby, MN distracts me so much that when I'm here I can never get anything done

I kind of have some stuff written down

actually I don't use it so much but I was in hospital with ill dd this week and dh kept on top of stuff cos it was written down - different washing loads etc, which I did for him last time me and dd went away for a couple of dayd

I keep stuff like a holiday packing list

and notes I made last year to stop me making such an arse-over-tit affair of Christmas again

but I don't write 'Get up and get dressed' on it

Dragonfaerie - I use MN as a reward for when I've done the few jobs I listed on Fly! that's my secret - I was on here all the time before I learned to do that!

DragonFaerie · 06/05/2007 22:02

I really shoould try that, not sure if I'm self disciplined enough for it to work though !

I have one I don't use it. It was just an excuse to waste some time not cleaning really, a bit like avoiding essay writing by cleaning the kitchen when I was a student only in reverse!
