To all ladies who've done nothing today

Make me feel better...

My house isnt dirty, it's a little unorganised - but not dirty.

There is no washing or ironing to do - so today, Ive done nothing but play with my DD and post on MN...

I feel really guilty though. DP came home for a surpise visit at lunch and I was making cheese on toast for LO... and he remarked how I obviously do nothing during the day when he's not there... arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Any one just have a lazy day some times?

Most days here, E&L - does that help?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 03/05/2007 16:32

sometimes?? try all the time!!!

niceglasses · 03/05/2007 17:23

A big huge, fat nowt here. No motivation. I could not tell you what I have done all day. Glass of wine in hand now.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 03/05/2007 19:13

I want wine.

onlytheone · 03/05/2007 23:05

Absolutely yes! I had one today. Your post made me smile. I too have a mainly clean house and keep washing and ironing up to date but my disorganisation drives me crazy. I took DD out this morning and then had a long lunch with a friend and walked round her garden with a glass of wine and returned home at 6 pm!!! Housework is never ending when you are at home with children. You need some escape even if it is playing with DD (much more important than anything really). Nice post EmilyandLola! Cheers!!

ThomCat · 03/05/2007 23:09

You were making your DD cheese on toast in a clean home and your DP commented on the fact he thinks you do nothing during the day! Charming! So it was the fairies who washed his clothes, put thema way, tidied away breakfast stuff, made dinner and entertained your DD all day then was it!

MaureenMLove · 03/05/2007 23:13

I used to feel guilty if I did nothing. But i work bloody hard usually everyday (am CM) and weekends. dh works at home now, so he sees what i do and I don't feel guilty now.

to prove this point, I have had no kids today and I fell asleep in front of the tv at about 12.30 and woke up at 3.10! Prior to that I was on here!!!

I love napping when DS's naps but then I end up having mad dash to get ready and putting DS in his cot with toys so that he's safe while I have a mega quick shower....I know I should be organised and shower while he's asleep etc but.....I can't!!!

Londonmamma · 03/05/2007 23:23

You say cheese on toast like it's a bad thing. Food of the gods, I.M.O.

Tell D.H. your work is unseen and emotional and will pay dividends in the long run...

EmilyandLola · 04/05/2007 08:30

I have decided to do nothing today too

Well, Ive already run the hoover round down stairs and straightened up the place, and obviously will now have to go and do the bottles for Lola, but pffffft I'm not ironing today

Oh, there is a pile of washing looking at me.

WTF I need a holiday

Any body want to join me with an anti fly - for days when you just want to chill out?

OP posts:
shouldbe · 04/05/2007 09:38

I post on the FLY threads most days in order to plan out my day but I love the days when any housework goes out the window and the kids and I spend the day in the garden or at the park instead - it's what being a SAHM is all about

I would join you today but I've had my lazy days this week and have to tackle the ironing this morning while both los are out of the house....

Enjoy your day
