Convince me to throw out my CDs

Or will I regret it when I can't change songs in the car etc?

I'm trying to streamline and chuck things out. It doesn't come easily to me.

What have you got? I'm trying to replace the CDs I lost when we moved house, purely for use in the car, I'll take them off your hands!

BigBrownBoogyinBear · 21/02/2018 18:28

They take up SO MUCH ROOM! Copy them all onto a USB drive. Ship them off to music magpie, put any profit towards a car radio with a USB slot, boom. Rejoice in all your extra space!

Don't get rid of them. Get suitable boxes or racks and keep all your favourites. Put the boxes in the loft or cupboard. Get rid of ones that you know you won't need. Technology isn't infallible.

Gah.

I haven't listened to most for years. It's mostly hip-hop, indie & folk.

They're all in a massive underbed drawer which could hold actual useful things.
Loads in the car. Loads in the kitchen.

I've actually been scouring shops for cheap ones, found out that Poundland do reconditioned ones and got a few from there but have quite a few I keep thinking "Ah I used to have that as well!"

Synecdoche · 21/02/2018 20:32

Get rid of the cases and keep the CDs in a case in the car.

Do it. Sell them on zapper. Download app.

Watto1 · 21/02/2018 20:35

I'm afraid I can't help. I only threw out my tapes last month!

MikeUniformMike · 21/02/2018 20:36

It sounds like they're just clutter then. Do a ruthless cull and sell them as a job lot.

RaininSummer · 21/02/2018 20:39

Couldnt do that. I still have all my LPs and singles from the seventies. I bought loads of cds last year from Oxfam.

Bananajam · 21/02/2018 20:49

I sold all ours on music magpie. We have access to Spotify and Google music plus all the album's we've ever bought stored on the pc with backups. There really wasn't any point in keeping the cds!

Oblomov18 · 21/02/2018 20:54

There's just no need for them anymore. Get rid!

Laucu · 22/02/2018 12:39

We haven't owned cds for years. And my husband is music obsessed. We listen to everything on Spotify now!
