There is more than one method Hmm

I'd love to know how people clean the hinges on loo seats? Confused

snotato · 18/02/2018 21:08

I spray the cistern, lid, seat, under side of seat, rim and outside of the toilet with dettol.then give it all a good rub,the hinges I just hold the cloth at each end and rub it to and fro all around the hinges.then I go over these areas with a dry towel.
Once that’s done,I spray the inside of the bowl with dettol and give it a good rub.i then pour bleach down the toilet and try not to flush for a good hour.

OneForTheRoadThen · 18/02/2018 21:09

@lolalotta with an old toothbrush!

princesssparkle1 · 19/02/2018 07:30

I was told the other day that bleach doesn't clean. It just colours the yuk white 😳😳

TieDyedBumhole · 19/02/2018 07:54

Well yes but then you scrub it so the “yuk” is removed.

I don't use it on the toilet (well, I don't use it anywhere since we got a cleaner), but I got one of these:

www.amazon.co.uk/Scrubber-Oscillating-Cleaning-Kitchen-Bathroom/dp/B01LVV6THF/ref=sr_1_3/262-2631970-5791263?keywords=electric+cleaning+brush&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1519036006&sr=8-3

Basically a giant electric toothbrush for the tricky bits. It's amazing for all the tricky bits and actually fun to use.

Vjump86 · 19/02/2018 16:15

I either use an old toothbrush- dipped in Milton fluid or you can use Milton wipes!

Squirrelpatrol2174 · 19/02/2018 21:37

bleach daily, loo cleaner once a week when I deep clean bathroom.

princesssparkle1 · 20/02/2018 06:56

Very interesting. There's so much choice out there 👍🤔

I always bleach the flush handle first as that's the bit people touch after they've used the loo and have germy hands.
