New Samsung fridge freezer and I can’t set the temperature correctly.

I tried Samsung on line chat help yesterday but got nowhere so I thought I’d try here on the off chance that someone has the same model Smile
It’s a RF56J9040SR, side by side fridge at the top and side by side freezer underneath.
If I’ve understood the booklet correctly, I need the fridge at 37 and the freeze at minus 18 but when I try and change the freezer temperature it only takes me through from 5 to minus 5.

Help please

TIA

I don't have a samsung fridge freezer but do you have it set to Celsius rather than Fahrenheit? Is there an option to switch between the two?

TheBitterBoy · 18/02/2018 09:40

That manual linked above describes the correct settings in celcius, but the pictures are showing Fahrenheit. Is this the issue?

Ifailed · 18/02/2018 09:41

reading the manual on-line, there's an additional freezer setting called 'soft freezing', used for keeping meat & fish, this will only go down to -5. I suspect you've set the freezer to this, not normal Freezer.

In your OP you’ve given the fridge temperature in fareignheit and the freezer temp in Celsius...

37F is 2.8C. So set the fridge to 2 or 3.

snozzlemaid · 18/02/2018 09:54

Yep. You're trying to use Fahrenheit but it's obviously in Celsius.

UnimaginativeUsername · 18/02/2018 10:41

You certainly wouldn’t want your fridge set to 37C. Grin

Thanks for all the replies. I’ve been a numpty huh? Blush
I’m off to read the booklet and look at the fridge freezer again and will revert.

Problem solved. You can change the display between Fahrenheit and Celsius and I think it’s all good now. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for all your earlier replies.
