Having a cleaner?

We’ve just arranged to have a cleaner and I’ve never had one before. Now it’s booked, I’m panicking - we’re really, really bloody untidy. We’ll clear before so that that they aren’t tidying but are they likely to judge?! Also - will the cleaner know what needs doing or will I need to leave what I’d like?
basically can someone tell me what to treat this so that I don’t embarrass myself 😂

Tell him or her the first few times, then they will know what you want.

Yes a cleaners job is to clean, not t tidy' and they can't clean if they can't get to it.

If you've tidied before they came there is nothing to judge.

We had a chat first, definitely tidy first otherwise they won’t have time to clean.

I discussed it, but you could leave a list.

I wanted floors swept and mopped, three floor stsitcase hoovered. Two bathrooms cleaned and kitchen. Sitting room/dining room done alternate weeks. Our bedroom hoovere£ and sheets changed. Kids rooms (grown up so no5 always there) done if the6 had time. That took three hours a week.

I really miss our cleaners....

We make sure everything is tidy before the cleaner comes so that she can actually clean! At most there will be a few toys out in the living room if we've left in a rush for school/work but tidy otherwise. This pushes us into getting everything properly put away once a week.

If you don't have a designated place for everything in your home, this will obviously be harder to achieve so you probably need to tackle that first!

Our cleaner hoovers and mops whole house, does 2 bathrooms and general dusting, a bit of cleaning in kitchen (I generally keep on top of this so never too bad).

If there is something extra that needs doing, i.e. Black mould on bathroom silicone creeping up, cobwebs on ceilings... I write it on a envelope I leave out with her payment.

I leave a nice stash of cleaning products just for her to use so she knows what will be there and everything is clean and topped up.

I always thank her profusely once he job is done as it is such a delight coming home after she has been!
