Cleaning motivation videos

I've just discovered the phenomenon of cleaning motivation videos and extreme cleaning videos. Weirdly compelling. People just cleaning their houses on fast-forward, basically.

Anyone watch these? Any particular favourites?

There are so many on YouTube, lots of huge American homes. I like the channel “how jen does it”.

I've just had a look at Jen. There homes are literally show homes. I am E jotting the idea that they have a room (or a wing!) that is just stuffed full of broken and useless tat, totally messy and disgusting. A horrible secret that they can never show the world.

I watch cleaning videos all the time, there’s a bit of a community on instagram. I find it really relaxing. I also find it really soothing watching videos of vacuuming! Weirdo.

I like watching people power wash things. :) :)

I absolutely love these - I blame them for the fact my house is a tip as I am too busy watching other people clean their house 😂

It'd be far more satisfying if the house was an actual proper dirty mess in the first place.

Did she just chuck a few toys and clothes around before filming? Where was the actual mess? So she had some dishes and like two tiny splodge's on the cooker but look how everything underneath this scripted and carefully placed 'mess' was so sparkly and clean to begun with!

I want to see proper filth being tackled. Not this fake 'oooh my house is dirty, watch me pretend to clean in my little house gown' rubbish

I am pretty sure there are videos of cleaning up hoarders houses and so on if you want the hard core stuff

Yes, the Monica cupboard! We are rewatching Friends at the moment but I'd forgotten about that.

I find watching them is actually motivating me to clean, I don't understand why. It is weird. And weirdly intimate, isn't it, seeing inside the house and seeing something you would never see your friends and neighbours do, for instance.

Maybe this will scratch that itch.
