New Dishwasher

Just bought my first dishwasher a Miele G6730 and am rather confused by all the options re: detergents. I'm in a hard water area.

Is it best to get an all in one tablet or use liquid.... do I need salt, rinse aid?

As I said all rather confusing.
Any advice appreciated.

You get a better wash by having salt and rinse aid especially in a hard water area. I like fairy tablets (bought on offer, never full price!) And own brand salt/ rinse aid

I use Tesco value tablets £1.40
Tesco salt & rinse aid. It probably costs around £2 a month.

You must make sure the salt is always topped up & does not get low.

Everything comes out sparkling, and clean.

You definitely need salt and rinse aid (even if you use all-in-one tablets). I use a Finish Quantum Max.

I meant I spend around £2 a month on tablets, salt & rinse aid. Pretty cheap, I would hate to not have a dishwasher now.
