Help! Hideous moth infestation

I can't bear it anymore...we have small brown moth type things flying around downstairs and last month there were white maggoty type things on the kitchen ceiling. I am swatting, squashing and can't get rid of them..what the heck ARE they?

they sound like food moths, lucky you.
they will be breeding somewhere in your food. check oats, flour, rice, cereal and the like, for evidence of little silk threads, maggots or bits of chewed up food.
All infested stuff, just throw out, and clean out all your cupboards.

Ive currently got them too.
