Just bought a Parker Knoll. leather suite. I emailed PK to ask about which creams I should buy for its care. The reply said no creams should be used on their leathers as these would ruin them. Only dusting and a clean with pure soap flakes about once a quarter was the correct way to ensure longevity. This advice was reiterated in the Parker Knoll care booklet I received today with them delivery. We were sold a five year care protection plan when we purchased the suite and told we would receive a box of care creams included which I certainly will not be using. However, noticed later we had paid £30 for it! All the advice on the internet talks of protection creams etc.
However, my aunt told me she was also told not to use anything else but a damp cloth on her leather 25 years ago and it is in great condition to this day. The salesman looked confounded when I told him about the advice I had received so wondering if a lot of this advice is based on marketing. Has anyone else received contradictory advice?
