Are there any local groups on Facebook you could join and ask for recommendations?

Wow @jojojono he sounds amazing! Unfortunately I live in the northwest! 4 hours a week maybe enough then.
@peachypetite I’ve looked on Facebook today and have couple coming to meet me and look at the house next week. What sort of vibe should I be getting? I’m a little nervous about leaving a key with a stranger.

It depends what you want to achieve and how good the cleaner is.

Our cleaner does a 3 bed with just two adults (plus two cats) in 2 hours, so 4 hours for a house with six mess making residents sounds like a good starting point.

Ours does a basic clean at least of bathroom/kitchen/lounge/hallways in that time, then we pick and choose what extras we want in terms of bed changing, bedroom vaccuuming, dusting, conservatory cleaning.

She has excellent initiative though, and if she finishes what I've asked for before her time's up, she'll do whatever needs doing. We didn't know she'd be good, but to be honest, I think it would be very hard to know someone was good unless you have a recommendation from someone with the same circumstances and expectations as you, if that makes sense?

Had a company start today. I’m excited to go home but I’ve already had an update from the kids saying she did the teenagers room. Specifically asked her not to go in there as it’s a complete disgrace and total waste of time! So this meant she ran out of time to chance my linen. I’m a bit miffed but will give her feedback later when I’m home from work. I’ve told DD 16 she can get her room cleaned but it needs to be tidy first. I’m not unreasonable though and don’t think it’s worth falling out with the new cleaner yet.
