Peeling paint

Hi could anyone help. Ive started to paint my kitchen and whenever I roll the paint on the wall it’s just coming back off onto the roller. I’ve just recently moved into the house but I’ve sanded the wall etc. And it’s no better. Has anyone had this problem before? It’s only happening on this one wall. Thank you x

Did you wash the wall with sugar soap first? Kitchen walls can be a bit greasy.
What paint are you using?
Is the wall damp?

What was the cause?

My wall needed a cavity clearance, because of the cavity wall instillation. They have taken it all out because water was getting in and the cavity wall instillation was acting like a sponge and getting wet and coming through to the inside wall! I’d advise no one to get that stuff in
