I need one of those wooden poles which hold up washing lines. Can only find metal ones locally Does anyone know where to buy them either online or not?

I can only find metal extending ones, my MIL got them made for her, you could make your own is just a length of wood with a V cut in the end.

is their a reason why it has to be wood, not metal?

sorry i dont know where to get one

I've got a great metal one, comes in two parts that fit together so it stores easily, and there's a bit you squeeze at the end to clamp it on the line. Holds the line up better than any wooden one we've ever had!

I would just look around and see what's around before deciding whether it's definitely got to be wood or whatever.

I think proper old-fashioned wooden ones are the best. I only ever found metal ones in shops. But when we were clearing out my Grandma's house I got her two props. They are in two pieces each with a couple of holes in with a peg that goes through so that they can be made half length for storage. Proper solid old-fashioned ones. Sorry being no help am I?
