Last summer our whole village had water meters fitted in readiness for them to be in full operation in 2 years time ( now 18 months) and we were told it would save us money!
Today many neighbours received their first estimated reading and it told us that we use enough water for 9 plus people and that our water bill will double. The problem with this is that there are only 3 of us not nine!
We are not wasteful with water and cannot see how on earth they came to this figure. My neighbour is a household with only 2 people and they are being charged for 4. If going by Affinity Water's calculations then they are simply doubling or tripling the amount of occupants for their readings.
They are coming on Thursday to do a homecheck not that I think we have any leaks or anything but will be interesting to see what they have to say.
Has anyone else had a ridiculous estimate?
