Can a white cashmere scarf be rescued?

I have an off-white cashmere scarf which looks generally a bit grubby. There are no particular stains, just general dirt. Wool wash with wool detergent made little difference. Is there any way to rescue it? Surely I can't just chuck bleach on?

I'd dye it darker if the stain removal products haven't worked.

You could try Ace bleach for colours. It's safe to use on wool and cashmere.

Oh, there is cashmere-bleach! Thanks. I am not quite ready to give up on the white scarf.

I would repeatedly hand wash it, really washing it well. Then if it still looked dingy I would dye it. Very weak , diluted Hydrogen peroxide, rather than chlorine based bleaches, is safe for wool, so you could try that too. There is a vintage clothes brightener, called retro-clean, that I think is also safe for wool.

I'd wash it in the machine on a wool or hand wash cycle (with a capful of Ace gentle stain remover), but not spin it and lay it on a netted rack for jumpers, flat over the bath.

Maybe try spraying all over with an oxy stain removing spray and dry in sunshine?
