How to keep my house clean & tidy?

Morning all!

Our house is normally fairly clean and tidy, but there are certain jobs we never get done eg dusting (and probably loads of others we don't even know about 🙈) I think the trouble is that neither me or my husband ever learned how to "run" a house if you know what I mean?

I wonder if our lives would be simpler and our house cleaner if we had a list of ALL the household jobs that needed doing, worked out how often each needed doing (eg daily, weekly etc) and then just worked through them as often as needed. Maybe even had set days for certain jobs?

The trouble is, I've no idea where to start! Does anyone know of any books or websites that could give us a steer?

Thanks!

Try Flylady.

Or get a cleaner. We have a cleaner that comes once a fortnight and it means we tidy up and by default it is tidier all the time as we don't want to have a last minute rush the night before she comes.

Plus get rid of crap you don't need. Freecycle what you can, sell what is worth selling and get rid of the rest.

I second Fly Lady.

A lot of people use flylady but I would just come up with your own plan.

So washing clothes is the biggest job.
Then maybe on a Saturday clean bathroom, toilets and dust all surface and hoover. Change beds.

Wipe out fridge before you restock after weekly shop. Windows - once a month

Oven - get oven pride kit and do that now and that will last you.

If you google for a spring clean list that should help.
